Several years ago,

… I stood on a hill in Arkansas, crying out to God.

Everything on the outside seemed to be working.  I was a successful youth minister in a thriving church, but I knew God had more for me.

Standing there, I saw a little house.  At moment, I heard “they’ve got the best view in town.”

Later I met the couple who lived there.

Their perspective, and a series of events and dreams helped launch me into a profoundly new perspective that would transform my life, family and work.

I call that perspective, and the journey it set me on, hope -

There are so many people stopped by a wrong view of life, a hopelessness and persistent despair that keeps them stuck.

They filter everything through what’s not working, or something that happened years ago.

But God offers each of us the gift of perspective, a healed and redeemed view of Him, ourselves and others -  so we can step out of despair and into hope – and God-inspired action to impact our families, businesses and cities.

All we need is for someone to come along at the right moment and help us see hope.

Meet me in the kitchen.

During the Great Depression, President Franklin D. Roosevelt give a series of radio messages known as the “Fireside Chats.”

His words inspired hope, brought people through the difficult time and helped point their focus to a positive future.

Well, my wife doesn’t let me play with fire in the house, but I have recorded a series of “Hope Chats” sharing stories and lessons that can help you rise above the difficulties of life to experience the hope and the future God has for you.
